Serving The Community Awards

Nominations Now Open for the Serving The Community Awards 23/24

We have so many fantastic people in Hedge End, selflessly making life better for others, whether running a group or club, helping out at home or generally going above or beyond.

We’d like to recognise those outstanding individuals whose dedication and kindness makes the community a better place.

Once again, we are running our Serving the Community and Young Person’s Serving the Community Awards. Our winner could be someone who has helped you out personally, a person who volunteers tirelessly to make local events happen or runs a community club? Anyone who has made a difference and deserves some recognition!

It’s quick and easy to nominate and the winners will receive a gift voucher of their choice.

Last year’s winner was Rose Spink who founded the Youth Cafe at St Luke’s Cafe and, along with a group of volunteers, serves free food to around 200 school children after lessons once a week.

The Serving the Community Award was first started in 2007 to recognise the wonderful service volunteers offer within the Hedge End community. The awards are open to anyone via a nomination process and are selected by the Recreation and Amenities Committee. Alongside this, the Young Person’s Award was started shortly after in 2009, both of which are showcased at the Annual Parish Assembly each year.
