A Great Year for the Conservation Volunteers

The Hedge End Conservation Volunteers enjoyed a beautiful, sunny morning for their last session of the year.

The team joined council staff in Wildern Moor, a fen meadow, which is fed by two low lying spring brooks. These wild, wetland habitats are under threat and disappearing nationally.

Trees and other vegetation need to be managed to prevent the wetlands turning into woodlands.

The Hedge End Conservation Volunteers meet regularly throughout the year and work with Hedge End Town Council’s Grounds Staff on various projects. We’d like to thank them for all their hard work – they are definitely on the Nice List this Christmas!
