Top Honour for Cemetery and Garden

We’re so proud to share that we have won the Green Flag Award for the beautiful Albert Road Cemetery and War Memorial Garden for the 17th year running!

The awards are recognized as the benchmark for excellence in green spaces across the UK and reflect the hard work, dedication and ongoing commitment required to maintain these special areas to the highest standard.

Cllr. Leigh Hadaway, Chair of Hedge End Town Council’s Recreation and Amenities Committee, said “We are delighted that Hedge End has once again been awarded a Green Flag, marking 17 consecutive years of success.

“My sincere thanks go to our grounds staff for their hard work and dedication. This achievement is a testament to their efforts and commitment to maintaining our excellent green spaces.”

Run by Keep Britain Tidy Charity, the Green Flag Award scheme recognises and rewards well managed parks and green spaces, setting the benchmark standard across the world.

Paul Todd MBE, Green Flag Award Manager at Keep Britain Tidy, said: “We are delighted to see 2,391 parks and green spaces cross the UK achieve Green Flag Award status this year. Every winner should be incredibly proud of this achievement. It is a testament to the commitment, passion, dedication and hard work that goes into creating and maintaining these special places for the benefit of residents and visitors alike.”
