Sew Deserving – Congratulations Dee!

Congratulations to Dee O’Neil who has won this year’s Hedge End Town Council’s Serving the Community Award. Dee was nominated for the incredible way she has used her sewing, knitting and crochet skills to raise more than £47,000 for charity.

Dee set up the Hedge End Community Sewing project with her friend Roberta initially making face masks before expanding to a wide range off meaningful creations such as memory bears, blankets and cushions.

She raffled her £100 gift voucher prize and raised a further £349 for the charity New Life Domestic which supports victims of domestic abuse in Hedge End and surrounding areas.
