Precept 2025/26

The Town Council has set its precept for 2025/26 meaning a Band D property will see an increase of £15.10 per year.  Less than 30p a week.

Whilst nobody welcomes increases, this is essential to:

  • Deliver our Play Strategy, investing in play facilities for everyone to enjoy
  • Ensure our open spaces, community buildings and Paddling Pool are maintained for future generations
  • Create a devolution budget to manage additional areas to maintain local control
  • Manage our increasing costs such as NI contributions, utilities and insurance

The Town Council delivers a wide range of beneficial services for all parts of the community even if they aren’t visible to everyone.  Whether it’s maintaining public toilets, community halls, open spaces or sports facilities, these services contribute to the overall quality of life in Hedge End. The town’s events, such as the Remembrance Sunday Parade or the festive lights, are also supported by the Council, and these contribute to the town’s sense of community and civic pride.
