Countdown to Christmas!

We’d like to thank everyone who came along to the Christmas Lights Switch On to make it such a sparkling success ![]()
It was a fabulously festive evening and it was wonderful to see such a huge turnout, with the town packed with families, friends and lots of excited children eager to see the town light up.
We’d like to thank everyone who made it possible… including all the many Christmas Market stallholders with their tempting goodies including hot food and drinks, gifts and games (as well as those on the village green), the fantastic performers and of course Father Christmas and his elves.
Thanks to the Vice-Chair of Hedge End Town Council Cllr. Leigh Hadaway, the Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr. Janice Asman, the Mayoress Cllr. Sarah Turl and Dick Whittington, his Cat and Dame Dolly Mixture from The Performing Arts Company who carried out the countdown in style! You can see them in pantomime at The Berry Theatre in January.
Children also had the chance to make lovely lanterns at Hedge End Library during the evening, which they then brought along to the event.
And we’d like to especially thank the Hedge End Co-op store for lending us their car park on the night.
We couldn’t have asked for a better start to the season!
The lights and the Christmas tree will remain on display throughout Christmas and the New Year ![]()
