Celebrating Our Parks

It’s Love Parks week when the spotlight is on our parks and open spaces highlighting the vital role they play in boosting our health and wellbeing.

This week, more than ever, people are encouraged to get out and enjoy their favourite parks and open spaces. Parks, great and small, offer an outdoor sanctuary – a place for children to play, somewhere to exercise and take part in sport, a space to walk our dogs and a meeting point for picnics with friends.

Here in Hedge End we look after 11 parks and open spaces, many with children’s play areas and, of course, the very popular Paddling Pool. To find out where all our outdoor spaces are, please see our interactive map here

The campaign is the brainchild of the Keep Britain Tidy charity which aims to raise the standard of open spaces with its international Green Flag Award and People’s Choice vote. Keep Britain Tidy believes everyone should have access to green space near where they live and work.

Love Parks runs from Friday 26th July until Sunday 4th August.
