Botley Bypass Works – Woodhouse Lane

Southern Gateway: Woodhouse Lane Partial Closure (Northbound Only: from Maypole Roundabout to Pavilion Road) – June 2026 to Early Spring 2027

Hampshire County Council has let us know that works will begin on Woodhouse Lane on Monday 22nd June to widen the carriageway, complete the new footway and cycleway, and install drainage and utility connections.

To enable the works:

  • A lane closure will be in place between Maypole Roundabout and Pavilion Road
  • This section will operate as a one-way route
  • There will be no access to Woodhouse Lane from Maypole Roundabout
  • A signed diversion route will be in place. The diversion route in place is suitable for all vehicles including HGV’s

The closure is expected to remain until early spring 2027. These works are a key part of the wider Botley Bypass project.
