A Magical Evening!

Hedge End was lit up in all its Christmas glory by the Chair of Hedge End Town Council Cllr. James Mitchell and the Mayor of Eastleigh Cllr. Dave Pragnell, who were joined by Mayoress Jean, Snow White, The Evil Queen and the Prince from the Performing Arts Company’s production of Snow White.

We enjoyed a Christmas Market with more than 20 stalls offering a range of food and drink including German sausages and chicken and halloumi wraps, hot chocolate, pastries, pies, cakes, preserves, candyfloss and popcorn, plus floristry and Christmas gift ideas, charity tombolas and The Berry Theatre. There was a funfair and shootout on the village green and the Hedge End Co-op offered free arts and craft activities and face painting as well as loaning their car park for the evening. And of course, Santa himself was there accompanied by the Hedge End Rotary.

Entertainment was provided by Shamblehurst School Choir, Wildern Community Choir, the barbershop quartet Cabin Crew, Rock Choir and Sing Now Choir.

Thank you to everyone who came along and supported the Christmas Lights Switch On and to all those who made the event possible. We would especially like to thank the Hedge End Co-op, the Mayor and Mayoress of Eastleigh, the Performing Arts Company, volunteer Tony, Hedge End Rotary, Hedge End Police, Burnetts Funfairs, all the traders and performers, Underwoods Electrical Distributors, CiggyJuice and Evolution5.
