The 1st July 1916 is known as one of the bloodiest days in the history of WWI. The battle was fought in northern France and on the first day of battle alone, British forces suffered 57,470 casualties and 19,240 fatalities. DOWD'S FARM LAKE & PONTOON
Following a number of calls from concerned residents, a shoal of trapped fish have been returned to the lake by our groundstaff team, having become trapped in the culvert due to recent flooding. The pontoon has also lifted and is now dislodged from the pathway. We are awaiting a survery from a marine civil engineer before we can expedite the repairworks needed. Signs are in place advising not to use until it has been repaired.
