Welcome to Hedge End Town Council's Community Website!

This community website has been created to provide the residents of Hedge End with valuable information on the work being carried out by their local Town Council.

It also provides our parishioners with a list of the many public services and amenities available in the local area as well as local news, community events, sports and social clubs and other meetings that may be of interest. We also hope this website will provide non-residents with a little insight into Hedge End life and the benefits of living in this vibrant and friendly town.

We aim to continuously improve our site, so if you can't find the information you are looking for please let us know.

LOUISE BLOOM ELECTED CHAIR OF HEDGE END TOWN COUNCIL

Hedge End Town Council's Annual General Meeting held on Wednesday 16 May 2012 saw Councillor Louise Bloom unanimously elected as Chair of Hedge End Town Council for the coming year. Councillor Shankerlal Sthankiya was elected as Vice Chair. 20 Councillors and several members of the public witnessed the inauguration of the Chair and the signing the Declaration of Acceptance of Office. Former Chair, Jane Welsh completed the ceremony by passing the Chair's Chain of Office and Gold Sovereign to her successor. Our Hedge End village centre and its traders suffer greatly from the out of town superstores and retail outlets in our surrounding areas. If we are successfully chosen to become one of twelve Portas Pilot 'Town Teams' in the UK, we hope to introduce a 'free community bus and loyalty card' scheme to encourage shoppers to come back to our village centre and save the heart of the community for future generations.
